Which unit is based in Cherry Point, NC?

Cherry Point, NC is the East Coast base for a major Marine aviation wing, which is directly responsible for coordinating and commanding the aviation squadrons in that region. The unit tied to that base is the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, headquartered at MCAS Cherry Point and overseeing the aviation units on the East Coast. The other options are stationed elsewhere: the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force operates out of Camp Pendleton, CA; the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing is based at Miramar, CA; and the 4th Marine Logistics Group is located in New Orleans, LA. So, the unit based in Cherry Point is the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
