The French Fourragere is worn by which regiments for actions at Belleau Wood?

Belleau Wood showcased a moment when American Marines fought side by side with French forces, and France awarded the Fourragère to allied units for their bravery there. The regiments honored with this distinction were the 5th and 6th Marines, whose sustained, fierce fighting earned explicit French recognition. Wearing the Fourragère serves as a visible symbol of that joint valor and cooperation in that battle. Other regiments didn’t receive this particular decoration for Belleau Wood, though they may have other honors for different actions.
