The French Fourragere is associated with actions at Belleau Wood earned by which regiments?

The Fourragère is a French decoration awarded to a unit that has been cited for gallantry by France in the Croix de Guerre. At Belleau Wood, the U.S. Marines earned such citations for their actions, and the two regiments that earned the Fourragère were the 5th and the 6th Marines. This braided cord is worn on the left shoulder as a visible mark of that honor, signifying the unit’s distinguished performance in that battle.
